Why is Creative Problem Solving Good?

Solving a problem which has been bugging you for a while is often one of lifes most tedious tasks and yet when you discover the solution it cannot be described as anything other than pure joy! … well, maybe a side of relief as well. But none the matter, joy is what it brings!

So on this wonderful blog post, I am going to fully outline why I go about creatively solving my problems and hopefully it’ll help you along the way!

Now first off creative problem solving isn’t easy! In fact, it’s actually more challenging…

Now don’t get scared – I’m going to teach you the simple steps on how you can make this part of your arsenal.

But why should you put in the effort? What does it enable your amazing mind to do?

Simple by thinking creatively you enable yourself to:

1. Gain a fresh perspective

2. Develop novel or unorthodox solutions

3. Reduce stress and anxiety

4. Drive-up your sense of purpose

5. Improve your ability to focus

6. Promotes willingness to fail and try again

7. Encourages you to be in the learning mode

By thinking creatively you open up so many doors in your brain which we otherwise leave untouched.

In essence its the ability to form something new out of what is being presented.

This sounds all great and all but let’s be honest here. All we want is value. How does this benefit you? (or me 😉)

1. Do you feel that fresh air? Our brains have a tendency to fall into certain shortcuts, whereby you learn one thing and use it all the time. This hinders problem-solving so by changing this it pushes you out of that linear way of thinking.

2. Are you saying we shouldn’t be traditional? It allows for self-discovery as you may find a solution which would have otherwise been left hidden.

3. Some days I just don’t know where to start… Being creative inspires a sense of contentment and often by making something creative you enjoy the process or the outcome even more.

4. This is the reason I am here! By brainstorming, understanding the technical and finished process it often causes personal satisfaction.

5. I am Mr Miyagi. When doing so it actually requires high commitment and dedication – not just to that specific project but the process itself.

This resonates with me so much! If I’ve had very brain heavy day doing something creative is out of the question.

6. It was calculated I tell you. Risk-taking! There are ton’s of articles on the art of failing out there – do you know of Brachistochrone curve?

7. I shall be the sponge that absorbs all. By improving and constantly challenging yourself you’re setting yourself up to continually grow.

If this sounds like it will massively help you, in my next post I will be going into how you can start creatively solving problems and causing your brain to think creatively.
