Case Study No.1 – Marketing

Marketing Consultant

Intro

New inquiries often want to know what kind of things I do as a VA, therefore to help explain I decided to convey this in some case studies. This will cover the work I do with Marketing Consultants which I find really interesting and fun. A bonus is that because I have a personal interest in marketing I am constantly keeping up to date with any changes, understand technical terminology and can assess information/ data very quickly.

The client:

During this case study, I will go through an amalgamation of work I do for Marketing Consultants. There is a mixture of some having one main client, only working in one specific country and others operating on an international global scale managing major brands and institutions including governments.

What I do for them:

Marketing Consultants need to show a potential new account how they can grow their business and brand through creative strategies. For this, they need data/ insights for presentations which they don’t always have the time to research, assess and critique the existing online presence of the client or their competitors. Thus asking me to do the leg work for them.

I also evaluate current Newsletters/ email campaigns, assess ways of joining, the quality, see what lead magnets or sign up forms are in place, audit the content to make sure it aligns to their focuses and provides value for potential accounts. Finally, I relay the stats so my client can quickly assess what works and decipher next steps overall improving CTR’s and conversion rates.

Occasionally the consultant will provide branded PowerPoints for me to place screenshots and URL’s for them to edit later, or they will simply handpick from my findings to suit the current needs of their client.

How what I do helps them:

1) The added benefit of me finding these insights for them, is my clients have more time to write proposals and presentations, formulate the strategy and overall spend more time with the client to improve chances of winning the account.

2) By repeatedly working with Marketing Consultants, I know how they like the insights presented and the different strategies they use to win business. This allows them to directly share any information with me and the work will come back presented as they like. After the first task, they are fully confident in my understanding of their responsibilities and how to best support them.

3) Due to my personal interest in marketing, SEO and strategies I am constantly keeping up to date with changes in the industry. For example, the use of videos in helping consumers learn about products/services has increased consistently over the last few years. From recognising this trend I can propose creative strategies in which to promote the clients brand whilst in turn providing new ways they can enhance their own brand.

4) Due to the nature of the role, I typically end up with a vast amount of insights at my fingertips. Thus allowing me to quickly find best practices for numerous industries, providing me more time to review and make sure my results are engaging.

5) I’m often asked to analyse results and draw up conclusions of what potential best next steps could be. Due to my analytic background, I’m often able to see between the lines and my clients always seem to agree and therefore value my opinion. Though they will review my findings it not only saves time it also provides an impartial view which enables them to inform their client the assessment was unbiased.

I highly enjoy doing these tasks for Marketing Consultants and strategists, so if you feel like I could help with any of this type of work or just making sure the admin is in order please feel free to give me a call!

P.S All my clients details will be confidential as they are not always comfortable with their customers knowing they sometimes require additional help.
